Mission Partner: Interserve
Envision, Equip, Engage
The Interserve community works alongside the church in nations across Asia & the Arab world wherever there are opportunities to share the love of Jesus with Asian & Arab peoples. Their partners seek to bring about meaningful and lasting transformations in the people they work with through Jesus. They do this for example; by starting a business, working in medicine, ministering to refugees, or helping immigrants with language classes.
Interserve was set up in 1852 by women who were inspired by their love of Jesus to set up schools and hospitals across India. Today Interserve is still reflecting the love of Jesus to the people of Asia and the Arab world, although it has now expanded to include men and people serving from Great Britain and Ireland plus other parts of the world including New Zealand, Malaysia, Norway and Canada. Their partners are still involved in education and healthcare, but are now also active in many other areas such as business, engineering and community development.
Our partner, Helen, is based in Bristol having previously worked in Egypt. She is involved both at a local and national level with Interserve in the UK and their work amongst refugees and immigrants from Asia and the Arab world. She has recently been involved in developing and updating courses for churches to use to help them engage with Muslims: 'Friendship first'. Also helping them to welcome new believers from a Muslim background into the church family: 'Joining the family'. Please pray for these courses that they may be widely used. interserve.org.uk.
