Spring is here
I can’t remember a time when I’ve waited for spring as much as this year. In many ways spring has a special message for us this year. It’s been a year now since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic. We’ve gone through a rainy, cold and dark winter in lockdown. The general mood has been quite low, people fed up, scared, disappointed and longing for something different, longing for the wait to end. We start spring with longer and sunny days, with schools re-opening, with many people receiving the vaccine, with hope and expectation.
I’m aware that for some people this winter might be longer, if you’ve lost someone you love or have been made redundant or are worried about someone you love or the cost of so much hurt in the last year might take a long time to recover. As we start the Spring we are also looking at Easter, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection together once again in person. The reminder that death could not defeat Him, that even the darkest of nights ended with a new sunrise, a new beginning, new life and new hope!
As spring marks the dawn of a new day, a new opportunity and a new life style. What would you like to do differently? What have you missed the most? What will you prioritize?
Restrictions will be lifted, but your day will still have 24 hours. As our schedules have been changed it’s a perfect time to reinvent them. What have we learnt this last year? What will you focus on? I would like to encourage you to fit these three elements into your daily, weekly and monthly rhythm: time with God, time with the people you love and time building God’s kingdom.
