St George’s Café - Brewing Community, One Cup at a Time

UK Coffee Week (14–20 October) is a time to celebrate great coffee and support coffee-growing communities across the globe. At St George’s Café, we’re proud to join this mission—one cup at a time.

We serve Kingdom Coffee, a Fairtrade blend roasted in small batches using low-energy methods. Not only is it full of flavour (our cappuccino is a local favourite!), but it also supports Toybox, a charity working with vulnerable children in coffee-growing regions. Together, Kingdom Coffee and Toybox are supporting over 100 children in Guatemala with food and outreach in an area described as “one of the worst places in the world to be a child” (Telegraph). They’ve also helped build classrooms in two church-based projects in Cochabamba, Bolivia—offering safety and education to children at risk.

But St George’s Café is more than just great coffee. It’s a warm, welcoming space in the heart of Ashtead, loved by locals and commuters alike. Staffed mainly by volunteers, the café thrives on the joy of community—people giving their time simply to make others feel at home. YourLocal.Guide lists us among the best cafés in the village, thanks to our friendly team, inclusive menu and inviting atmosphere.

Adding a deeper layer to our community is Matt Regan, our Curate and assigned ‘Café Chaplain’. Matt offers a listening ear and pastoral care to anyone who walks through our doors, creating space for reflection and connection.

So come in, grab a Kingdom Coffee and be part of something bigger.
