Data Privacy Day: Taking Control of Our Personal Information

Each year on 28 January, Data Privacy Day encourages us to look at how our personal information is collected, shared and protected. In a world where so much of life happens online, taking steps to protect our data is increasingly important.

In Ashtead Parish, one of the key ways we care for our church family is by using ChurchSuite — our central hub for communication and connection. It is a secure, trusted system that helps us use staff time and parish finances wisely.

You are invited to access My ChurchSuite. This function is by invitation only, ensuring that only those with a genuine connection to St George’s and St Giles’ Churches can join. Simply by downloading the app to your phone, tablet or logging in via a web browser, you can easily stay up-to-date and sign up for all upcoming events, listen to sermon podcasts, join Connect Groups, and more. The app also makes it easy to connect directly with one another, helping relationships grow and making you feel part of parish life.

A key feature is that your data defaults to ‘hidden’ until you choose to share it with the church family. We encourage everyone to display their name and either phone or email. You adjust your visibility in the app using My Details. You might also like to upload a photo too!

If you haven’t logged in for a while, this is a great moment to sign in, check your details, and make sure you are visible to others.

If you’re new to My ChurchSuite and would like to join, simply email ministryadministrator@ashteadparish.org. We’ll confirm your eligibility and send you an invitation so you can download the app or access login.ChurchSuite.com through your preferred browser. If you’re already on but need to refresh your password then this can be done via the App/login, or you can contact us - we’re here to help you get connected.
