A Paws-itively Joyful Pet Service

Sunday 28 September’s pet service at St George’s Church was a roaring success, welcoming a delightful mix of two-legged and four-legged visitors alike. The reading that day was Noah’s story from Genesis, and the church was appropriately filled with a veritable ark of animals.

The majority of our guests were of the canine variety, with wagging tails and eager paws, but we were also thrilled to welcome a chicken and a few tortoises into the fold. Each animal receiving a special blessing at the front of the church.

Adding to the fun, Revd Sarah Tapp and children’s leader Jaynie Kendall joined the celebration dressed in furry onesies—a giraffe and a zebra—bringing smiles to faces young and old. Many of our furry friends also came dressed in their Sunday best, making the occasion even more memorable.

It was heart-warming to see so many new faces in church, both human and animal, and we hope this joyful event will become a cherished tradition in our church calendar.
