Celebrating Young Talent at the Dell Centre

On 1 September we welcomed 35 young singers to the Dell Centre for this year's Summer Holiday Singing Workshop. There were games, fun vocal warm-ups, and craft activities, alongside learning a variety of songs to perform to parents and carers at the end of the day. We also had some talented choir members accompanying the singing on drums, violin and handbells.

Thank you to the team of adult helpers and young leaders who made it all possible. We are currently looking to recruit one or two more adults to join the rota to help at the youth choir rehearsals on Tuesday evenings once or twice a term. If you are willing and able to support in this way, please contact esther.jones@ashteadparish.org

We hope to see some of these young singers again at our Youth Choir Open Rehearsal next Tuesday 16 September at 5.45 pm. A chance for anyone interested in joining to experience the joy of being part of our choir for an evening.

The Youth choir is open to singers aged 7-18, with a senior choir for those aged 11-18 and a young leaders programme for 14–18-year-olds (which qualifies as the volunteering or skills element for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme). Choir membership is free and open to all, whether or not they live in Ashtead, and whether or not they are church members.
