Asking ourselves some big questions
We’ve really enjoyed our 5-weeks Big Questions course, we were surprised to see 200+ people engage with it and some sessions had up to 170 people joining. Most of the people joining were regular Church members, but at least 20% weren’t which is great. We were encouraged to think, question, ask questions and try and go deeper into some of the difficult questions that don’t have simple answers. If you didn’t join please feel free to catch up, all the sessions are on YouTube.
God has given us a beautiful mind that likes to question and search for the truth, sometimes we just trod along without stopping to reflect on these big questions. Is there life after death? What’s the meaning of life? Why are we here? But actually, digging into these questions will help us be more intentional now. I don’t think we should avoid this at all, Jesus said that he is the way, the truth and the life. I highly recommend that we start becoming more intentional about searching, being honest with ourselves and look for answers. These are my two suggestions, as rational and thinking Christians, lets search for answers, in the Bible, in books, asking others, by praying, being proactive about the questions and doubts we might have. The second suggestion is to recognize that we probably won’t get accurate answers to some of our questions. We’ll have to hold onto possible answers with no certainty and that is ok. We can trust God, know Him, worship Him and at the same time know that some of our questions will remain unanswered.
