Come Holy Spirit
I’ve had the privilege of studying church history and looking at the different crises it has gone through. Whenever there has been decline, disengagement, difficulties, there has been a call from God to return to the basics. A journey to the ‘old paths’ of prayer and intimacy with God. Pentecost is a reminder of this, the scared and discouraged disciples were lost, yet they followed Jesus’ call to be together waiting and praying. As they did, God did what only He can do, he touched them with His Spirit and they were filled with joy, hope, strength and courage. They were reminded once again that God’s Kingdom is extended with Him, in a partnership.
As we start coming out of our modern-day storm and crisis, there is only one way forward if we want to extend God’s Kingdom and rebuild His Church. That is why we are going to pray for our family, friends and community during the next two weeks, that is why we are calling for a special week of 24/7 prayer starting on 16 May, because we need the life that only God can give.
Jesus said “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13)
Let’s join in praying together saying ‘come Holy Spirit, thy kingdom come’
