31/05 Growing in Christ: Freedom Not Law (Copy)
Freedom Not Law — Colossians 2:8–23
Read Colossians 2:8–23 together.
What stood out to you most from the passage or the sermon?
Different generations often define freedom differently. How do you think our culture understands freedom today?
Paul warns about being “taken captive.” What pressures or expectations in modern life can quietly control us without us even noticing?
My talk suggested that many of the “rules” we live by are absorbed from culture, family, church, comparison, or expectation. Have you ever noticed this in your own life?
Why do you think human beings find it so easy to rebuild “prisons” for themselves, even when we long for freedom?
Paul says that through the cross, the powers and authorities were disarmed. What do you think that means practically for everyday life?
“Real freedom is not simply doing whatever we want.” What do you think real freedom in Christ actually looks like?
Is there an area of your life where you sense God inviting you into greater freedom, honesty, or peace?
Spend some time praying quietly for one another especially where people feel burdened by pressure, fear, shame, comparison, exhaustion, or the need to constantly prove themselves.
