07/06 Growing in Christ: A Heart Set on Heaven
Growing in Christ – A Heart Set on Heaven
Colossians 3:1–4
1. First Impressions
As you’ve been reading Colossians and listening to the Growing in Christ series:
What has stood out or challenged you the most so far?
Has anything changed in how you see Jesus or yourself?
2. A Heart Set on Heaven (v.1)
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above…”
What do you think it means to “set your heart on things above”?
What might that actually look like in everyday life?
3. Living This Out in Ashtead
What could it look like to have heaven-shaped priorities while living here in Ashtead?
How might that change:
Your daily choices?
Your relationships?
Our church and wider community?
4. What Pulls Us Down? (v.2)
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
What are some “earthly things” that tend to distract you or weigh you down?
Which ones are hardest to let go of—and why?
How can we gently help each other refocus?
5. Hidden in Christ (v.3)
“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
What do you think it means that you have “died” with Christ?
What does it mean that your life is now “hidden with him”?
Does this bring you comfort, challenge, or something else?
6. Our Future Hope (v.4)
“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
What does it mean to you that Christ is your life (not just part of it)?
How does the promise of appearing with him in glory make you feel?
How could this hope shape how you live this week?
