Discussion Questions

  1. What stood out to you as you listened to or read this story?

  2. What assumptions about love, blessing, or worth do you see in this family?

  3. Where do we still make similar assumptions today about what a “blessed” or “respectable” life looks like?

  4.  How does God meet Leah in her pain? What does this reveal about God’s character?

  5. The women repeatedly say, “The Lord has seen… the Lord has heard…” How does that speak to you personally?

  6. Where in your own life do you need to be reminded that God hears you?

  7. How does God work through flawed people and messy situations in this story?

  8. Where might God be redeeming or reshaping something messy in your life right now?

  • Pray for places where people feel unseen, unheard, or discouraged.
