Questions:

1)      What clubs or organisations have you ever been a member of? Which have been the most enjoyable? Which ones have you been most committed to?

2)      What does membership of a church mean to you? When in your life have you been most committed as a church member? What impact did it have on you and on others?

Read Ephesians 2:8-10, 19-22; 2 Cor 5:14-15

3)      What struck you from the sermon on Sunday? What strikes you from these passages?

4)      How do you respond to being described as ‘God’s handiwork’? What about him preparing good works for us to do?  Is that true in your experience?

5)      Share an example of feeling called to a particular good work and your experience of doing it.

6)      Have you ever been a recipient of someone else’s ‘good work’? How did that feel?

7)      What did you learn from the sermon and the passages about God’s vision for the local church?

8)      What were the components shared that make up full, committed church membership? How do you feel about them? Are there any you want to avoid?!

9)      How can you help others move from the fringes to full involvement in the life of the church?

10)  Pray for the group to grow in their commitment to and enjoyment of church.
