Questions:

1)      What is your favourite form of communication and why?

2)      What struck you from Sunday’s sermon? How confident do you feel about communicating with God?

Read Lk 11:1-13

3)      Why do you think the disciple asks Jesus to teach them to pray? What do you think prayer would have been like for the disciples, prior to this lesson?

4)      Jesus begins the prayer with the Aramaic word for Daddy. What impact would this have had on the disciples? What impact should it have on us?

5)      Jesus wants us to start our prayers with praise (“Hallowed be your name”), followed by praying for God’s agenda to be fulfilled (“Your Kingdom Come”). Why does Jesus put these things first? What are the consequences of not doing so?

6)      What does “daily bread” mean for you? In what different ways can you apply it?

7)      Do you regularly seek God’s forgiveness? If so, why? Why does Jesus presuppose we forgive those who sin against use?

8)      What does “lead us not into temptation” mean for you?

9)      What are the main points Jesus is making in vs 5-13? How do they inspire you to pray?

10) What has most struck you from today’s session? What will you do differently in response?
