Coffee with a Conscience

Back in 2019, we purchased our first and only barista machine, with the aim to offer a full menu of delicious coffees in the Café.  Well, the pandemic had other things in mind!  Post-pandemic (and after a refresher course on how to use our barely-used machine) we started offering a full range of delicious Kingdom Coffees and hot chocolates.

Kingdom Coffee is a family-owned roastery offering Fairtrade coffee using low-energy air technology to roast beans in small batches. We are happy to offer this coffee as it promises fairness to both the farmers who grow it and the lowest-possible impact to the environment.

Since we launched our new coffee menu in Ashtead, we’d like to think that we have the best coffee in town!  It’s very popular not only with our guests who enjoy the friendly Café atmosphere, but also with those on their way to the train station, stopping in for a coffee to go.  In 2024, our most popular drink is cappuccino, with 2,067 sold so far!

We believe that everyone deserves good coffee! So, as it’s National Coffee Week, we’ve opened up our ‘Good Turn’ board - encouraging everyone to spread a little love. Beginning 14 October you can pop in and enjoy a cup of our finest Kingdom Coffee, and do someone else a good turn and buy them a cup too. We will even include a card for you to pass an encouraging message on to the lucky recipient if you wish!

Anyone in need of a little love is welcome to pop in and enjoy the gift of a great cup of coffee from the board.
