Creation Still Matters

The C4C (Caring for Creation) team here at Ashtead Parish are always looking for ways for us all to grow in our care for God’s world. Last month we completed our Creation Matters Series of services and home group discussions. As a special focus for one of the weeks, we asked everyone to consider their modes of transport to church and other locations, and provided a handy ‘Green Travel’ leaflet offering food for thought on sustainable alternatives. It will be interesting to see if more people choose greener options as a result. You can download a digital copy of our ‘Green Transport Flyer’ here.

We would like to continue to inspire care for the environment within and beyond the church family, as an expression of our Christian faith and a vital part of our mission in the world.

2024’s theme for Recycle Week (14-20th October) is ‘Rescue Me’, focusing on rescuing recyclable items from the rubbish bin. The Recycle Now web site has an excellent Recycling Locator, which allows you to discover what recycling facilities you have access to locally. There is a handy ‘object’ search enabling you to find the nearest location which will accept a certain item. It also gives you a detailed breakdown of what you can put in your kerbside collection bins in your area. Don’t bin anything without checking here first!
