Praise God for the special kind of peace that He bring, that is beyond all understanding.

Peace 4: 2-7

Peace between believers v2 - 3

• Why is the disagreement between Euodias and Syntyche important? 

• In what ways does Paul suggest it be tackled?  

• How does this help us when there are differences between Christians?

Peace in our hearts v4-7

True peace, different from anything the world can give, is seen in v7 as an outcome.

• Trace the steps leading to this fruitful outcome, beginning in v4.

• Then reflect, individually or together, on how these principles can help you in your current situation.

• Share testimonies or examples of how you or others have experienced freedom from anxiety leading to God’s amazing peace.

Perspective 4: 8-9

In verse 9 Paul again mentions peace, the promise of the presence of the God of peace.

• v8 is all about our thought life. Discuss the connection between putting v8 into practice and experiencing God’s peace in our hearts and lives.

• What features of modern life present particular challenges? (eg internet, film, social media, TV, literature).

• What difficulties are members able to share?  What strategies have been found helpful?

NB It is possible that some members have experienced serious problems and even addiction in these areas. Take seriously this subject and help them to get support.

Witness, Care and Prayer

Taking 4:6 as your model, pray about areas of life which you have considered too insignificant, or too impossible even.  As you pray accept and claim the promise that God’s peace will keep guard over your hearts and minds in King Jesus!
