On Mission With Jesus Week 2: First Things First

Dear all,

Please find attached the third week of Life Group notes for On Mission With Jesus. As we said last week, don’t feel you have to answer every question. And if a question is going well please stick with it – there no need to rush through!

Please pray before you meet, before you begin the session and as you finish, to help ensure the applications sink home and bear fruit.

Questions:

1)      What’s the kindest thing anyone’s ever done for you?

Read Luke 5:17-26

2)      Describe the hopes and feelings of these different sets of people at the start and the end of the story:

a.      The paralysed man

b.     The four friends

c.      Jesus

d.     The pharisees and teachers of the law

e.      The rest of the crowd

f.        The owner of the house

3)      What’s most surprising about this story? What had you not noticed before?

4)      How did this incident advance Jesus’ agenda? Why did he respond as he did?

5)      What struck you from the applications in the sermon on Sunday? How should the example of the four friends challenge/inspire us?

6)      Do you have healing/prophetic/evangelistic gifts? How might you offer to use them?

7)      Who might God want YOU to bring to Jesus? How can you support each other in this?

LISTEN TO GOD AND PRAY FOR THOSE HE BRINGS TO MIND
