Volunteers' Week 2025: A Time to Serve and Celebrate
Did you know that just a few hours of volunteering can change lives – not only for those in need but for the volunteers themselves?
From 2 - 8 June, the UK celebrates Volunteers' Week 2025—a dedicated time to recognise and appreciate the incredible contributions of volunteers across communities. This annual initiative shines a light on the selfless efforts of those who give their time to support those in need or local, national and international charities and projects.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
The bible teaches us that serving others is an expression of love and devotion to God. Romans 12:6 (NIV) tells us “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Similarly, 1 Peter 4:10 encourages Christians to use their gifts to serve others: "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
Volunteers' Week is more than just a celebration, it's an opportunity for us all to reflect on how we can serve others and strengthen our communities. Whether you're drawn to mentoring young people, supporting local charities, or simply lending a helping hand to a neighbour in need, your efforts matter.
So, come be inspired, get involved, and make a meaningful impact. Your service—no matter how big or small—can bring hope, healing, and unity to those around you. Let this week be a reminder that through volunteering, we not only uplift others but also deepen our connection to faith and community.
Where do you feel called to help?
We would like to say that there are a wealth of opportunities to serve your church and the wider community right HERE on our volunteers page. However, the Volunteers’ Week website offers much information to encourage you to get involved and explore the many ways to participate in this year’s campaign.
